October is such a fun month in Niagara. There are so many exciting events to look forward to each year. Here are some of our favourites (from spook-tacular, to wine country glass raisers and cozy connections)
Spook-tacular
It’s a Howling Good Time at Howell’s Pumpkin Farm - until October 31st
You have to make the trip to experience all of the fun. From the pumpkin donuts, to the hot apple cider to the haunted spook barn, wagon ride, corn maze, cow train and finding that perfect pumpkin for your porch.
Haunt Manor - until November 1st
It all started with the spooky legend of the Pew Family. They resided on this Lundy’s Lane property when the Battle of Lundy’s Lane took place over 200 years ago. The house has remnants of bullets lining the walls of this house – bullets from the historical Battle of 1812. Paranormal experts have confirmed that this place is indeed full of paranormal activity. So prepare for your mind to wander as you take a tour of haunted houses and a haunted hayride on the grounds of this historical site.
Niagara Ghost Walks - beginning at 7:45pm in October
Take a stroll through Niagara’s most haunted corridors. From the Village of Elgin to Niagara’s most haunted Bed and Breakfast (Blythewood Manor), to the exact location where mob lieutenant, Freddy Tedesco, smoked his last cigar.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Ghost Walks - walks nightly at 8pm
Take a walk through Canada’s most haunted town, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Experience one of the most angry ghosts, who resides in the Angel Inn and scary stops outside the Niagara-on-the-Lake Courthouse, Prince of Wales Hotel, Apothecary, and Royal George Theatre.
Ghost Tours of Niagara - Fort George After Dark
Not only is Niagara-on-the-Lake known for being one of the prettiest towns in Ontario, it’s also one of the most haunted. The most prevalent paranormal stories surround the historical site of Fort George, ranging from the benevolent spirit of a little girl named Sarah Ann to a more ominous presence simply known as “The Watcher”. Guided candlelit ghost walks of Fort George are offered throughout the spring and summer, from May to September. There are also Special Halloween ghost tours offered at the end of October. So gather your favourite friends and get ready for a spooky adventure.
Wine Glass Raisers
The Haunt - Colaneri Estate Winery - October 30th - 8pm - 12am
Stroll the haunted vineyard, experience frightening tricks and taste the wines from the past, present and future as well as ghoulish treats. Plus come see the magician and mentalist, Ashtar Avatar
Hernder Estate Winery - Halloween Bash - October 31st
Enjoy an evening of fun and laughter. $500 in Cash Prizes for Best Costume and for the 2nd Runner Up. Hallows with the sounds of Jonesy in the Winery. Doors open at 8pm.
Get cozy with conversations, comedy and classic concerts only at the Fallsview Casino in October.
Rock and Soul – October 23rd – 30th
