in Canada’s Play On Ball Hockey National Championship Tournament, which is happening right in our Victoria Avenue neighbourhood in Niagara Falls from September 28th - 29th. Winners will hoist the Redwood Cup and be recognized on National CBC Television as Canada’s Greatest Street Hockey Players.
76 teams from across Canada will be vying for the top prize over the course of two days as 11 rinks will be set up right on Victoria Avenue, just footsteps from the Niagara Falls Courtyard by Marriott hotel. We are one of the closest Clifton Hill hotels to this spectacular Niagara Falls Event.
The playoffs will begin Saturday morning at 8 a.m, with single elimination games until the women’s championship game, scheduled for 4 p.m., and the men’s final, scheduled for 5 p.m. The finals will be broadcasted on CBC and Scott Hill, National Program Director said he expects up to 10,000 people to be in attendance throughout the two days. “I think Niagara is going to be shocked at the magnitude of this. Niagara Falls was selected because it is a world-class tourism destination and because the street location perfectly meets event technical requirements. We are so grateful to the City of Niagara Falls for making this event possible, and to the CBC for its commitment to host Sports Day in Canada from the tournament.” said Hill.
