NEW Niagara by Night Tour
After many months of planning we are very excited to share our Newest Niagara Tour, the Niagara by Night Tour, which is exclusive to the Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls and our on-site Tour Company,
Above the Falls Tours.This tour is where exhilaration meets moments of nailing biting behaviour (and let’s be truthful about it - your heart may just beat a little faster that night).
Battlefield and Beyond Cemetery Walk
The first part of the tour is called the Battlefield and Beyond Cemetery Walk and takes place in one of the oldest and most recognized cemeteries in North America, the Drummond Hill Cemetery. This tour gained its name, Battlefield and Beyond because it touches on some historical facts on the various battles that took place here, such as the “Battle of Lundy’s Lane,” as well as and one of the bloodiest battles between the British and Americans in 1814. But it also goes beyond the battlefield and gets into the deeper stories of some of the famous settlers buried at the cemetery, such as Laura Secord, a famous Daredevil, Burr Plato, one the first African American slaves to come to Canada via the Underground Railroad, members of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOFF) and Freemasonry and more. We don’t want to give too much away, but a few of the Above the Falls Tours’ associates had the pleasure of experiencing this walk the other day and let’s just say that a few hairs will rise on the back of your neck by the end of it.
As you enter the tour, you will be greeted by these legendary iron gates.
Now mind you the first tour starts at 7:30pm on June 28
th, so you the cemetery will not be in complete darkness (like the above picture). However we’re not sure what is more frightening? Experiencing a cemetery in complete darkness or experiencing it as the sun is starting to set where you can visibly see all of names on the tombstones (are we starting to paint the picture for you?) Your guides will also be in character to give you the full experience of what happened on Drummond Hill 200 years ago.
Hornblower Niagara Falls Illumination Cruise
The second part of the tour is equally as exhilarating. The second stop takes you to the
NEW Hornblower Niagara Falls Illumination Cruise. Here your adrenalin will continue as you hop aboard a 250 passenger catamaran ready to set sail past both the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Here you’ll have front row seats to the starry skies and panoramic views of the dazzling city lights and famous coloured illumination of both Natural Wonders. This cruise promises to astonish and amaze.
The Niagara by Night Tour will be launching on Saturday June 28
