What have you got planned for the long weekend ahead? Niagara Falls is filled with lots of events to celebrate your patriotism. Here are a few of our favourites:
In 2013, the Bi-Centennial Celebration continues at the 27th Annual International Friendship Festival. Celebrating 200 years of good relations between Canada and the United States since the end of the War of 1812. Featuring local artisans, great food, evening concerts and the 2nd annual “Festival’s Got Talent.”
Butler’s Barracks Concert Series – June 29th

Summer Concert Series at Jackson-Triggs – until September 6th
Award-winning wines, gourmet food, and brilliant Canadian talent come together to celebrate summer in Jackson-Triggs’ open air amphitheatre. On July 8th, Steven Page hits the stage with his latest record, Page One. It’s his first solo since leaving the Barenaked Ladies.
Canada Day Celebration in Niagara Falls
Celebrate Canada Day in Niagara Falls, starting with a 5km walk/run at Oakes Park, followed by a Canada Day Parade which starts on Victoria Avenue and ends at Crysler Street. Featuring music, magic, food and lots and lots of fun. The party starts on June 30th and continues until July 1st.

It’s all about bringing the soulful musical sounds of Memphis, Philadelphia and Detroit together with an exclusive artist roster of eight performers that celebrate the music of The Temptations, Bog Seger, The Supremes, Hall & Oates, Mitch Ryder, Tower of Power, Marvin Gaye and Lou Rawls.
Iron Man 3 – IMAX Experience – NOW PLAYING
IMAX has brought Marvel’s Iron Man 3 to the big screen. And by big screen we mean watching this action packed adventure film on a 60 foot screen combined with 12,000 watts of digital surround sound. Get ready to feel like you’re part of the action.
Shaw Festival – PlayBill 2013 – June – October
The Shaw Festival is a world class theatre company inspired by the work of Bernard Shaw. The contemporary plays produced are from and about his era, which share Shaw’s provacative exploration of society and celebration of humanity.
This is a great event that is sure to entertain the whole family. There will be three tall ships pulling into the Port Dalhousie Harbour: The Lynx, The Pride of Baltimore II and the Unicorn (which features an all female crew). There will also be live entertainment and re-enactors will flood Lockhart Point Park. I know that school just ended, but it’s a fun way to learn about the War of 1812 and how the soldiers took to sea during the three year conflict. Tickets are $5 for Adults and $2 for Kids (ages 12 and under). The event runs from 10 am to 6 pm daily.
